A cooperation agreement was signed between Azerbaijan and Russia to develop transit cargo transportation via the "North-South" International Transport Corridor.
Axar.az reports, citing the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, that the agreement was signed during Minister Rashad Nabiyev's working visit to Russia.
The agreement outlines the terms of cooperation on the development of railway infrastructure and transit transportation. Its aim is to enhance the efficiency of transport connections, increase the potential of the Western route of the "North-South" corridor, and stimulate the growth of cargo transportation via rail. Additionally, it seeks to ensure a balance between the growth rate of cargo volumes and the development of railway infrastructure.
During the visit, R. Nabiyev held meetings with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev and Transport Minister Roman Starovoyt. Discussions also covered the implementation of automobile cargo transportation.
